Fun Events In The Klang Valley This Weekend From 2 To 4 June

From exhilarating shows and performances to weekend markets and bundle expos, there’s something for everyone this weekend in the Klang Valley.

Ongoing Events

1. Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair @ WTCKL (26 May – 4 Jun, 10 am – 10 pm)

KLIBF is an annual major event in the global publishing calendar which is supported by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.

Besides displaying old and new publications, there are also various activities carried out by publishers from across the region such as book launches, seminars, conventions and many more to cater to the needs of book-lovers from all walks of life.

In this year’s 49th edition of KLIBF, you can meet various authors, browse and get discounts on tons of books, and even get to see a cosplay competition from 2 – 4 June at Dewan Merdeka.

Entry for KLIBF is RM3.

2. The World Of Tim Burton (Exhibition) @ Pavilion Bukit Jalil (21 March – 30 July, 10 am – 10 pm)

For the first time in Southeast Asia and the last stop in Asia – The long-awaited ‘The World of Tim Burton’ Pop-Up Museum is finally here at Pavilion Bukit Jalil! 

Featuring numerous talented works from Tim Burton’s early stages of sketches and drawings to the talented artist’s most recent projects of puppets and life-sized sculptures used in his film work, you’ll be sure to step into an incredible experience like no other!

Tickets are priced at RM88 per pax but they have discounts for kids, seniors, students and OKUs. For more details, visit here.

3. The World Of Nickelodeon Malaysia (Kids Cartoon Carnival) @ Pavilion Bukit Jalil (28 April – 23 July, 10 am – 10 pm)

Are your kids a fan of Nickelodeon’s cartoons? This carnival is the perfect place for families to bring their kids and have a fun time together with 17 interesting stations and tonnes of photo opportunities set up over 14,000 square feet.

You’ll even spot characters from shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, and Bubble Guppies so bring your kids for a fun day at the carnival!

Here are specific events to enjoy with your family and friends on FridaySaturday, and Sunday.

2 June (Friday)

1. Retro Supreme (Weekend Market) @ Central Market (2 – 5 June, 10 am – 8 pm)

Longing to find something from the past? Well, head on to Pasar Seni this weekend for a Retro Supreme weekend market.

Some of the items that you can find there include vintage clothes and accessories, home decor, playthings as well as vinyl and also delicious nostalgic food!

2. Thrifted (Bundle Event) @ The Paddock, PJ (1 – 4 June, 12 pm – 12 pm)

Are y’all fans of thrifted and preloved items? This is the perfect place to bring your friends and dates to! Thrifted is a big bundle event happening this weekend in PJ. From cheap apparel and gorgeous accessories to scrumptious food and amazing lucky draws, this is a place to be this weekend! They also have a go-kart there too for some fun time at the track.

Don’t forget to bring those huge Ikea bags for those “accidental” hauls.

Besides that, they will also have a gig there this Saturday night called Gig Tanpa Kasta. It’ll feature 8 local bands with 8 different genres. You can get the tickets here. They are priced at RM39.

3. Bundle Expo (Bundle Event) @ Ground Floor, Mines 2 (1 – 4 June, 10 am – 10 pm)

Hold on now, there’s not one, but two bundle events this week?!? Stylish & cheap clothes, here we come!

Bundle Expo is another event gathering various vendors who selll thrifted items for less. From shoes and hats to printed shirts to denim jeans, there’s a lot of shopping you gotta get to. Let’s dive in together!

4. Anime Fair @ Main Concourse, Sunway Putra Mall (1 – 5 June, 2 pm – 9 pm)

Get ready for a fun-filled weekend at Sunway Putra Mall Anime-Fair on the 1st of June and the 5th of June 2023.
Get ready to be blown away by live performances belting out your favourite anime anthems and snap up the chance to click selfies with dazzling cosplayers too.

Plus, you can also hunt down exclusive, must-have anime merchandise that will make you the talk of the town.

5. Boom Fest (Festival) @ Kompleks Sukan Pandamaran, Klang (2 – 5 June, 10 am – 12 am)

Up for a weekend of fun at a festival? Head on over to Boom Fest in Klang this week to enjoy food from food trucks and viral food stalls. There will also be an auto show for those vehicle enthusiasts and plenty of bundle clothes and preloved items up for grabs.

You can also chill with your family and friends while enjoying live music and visiting the petting zoo. There are endless cool activities waiting for you.

3 & 4 June (Saturday & Sunday)

1. Pesta Kopi @ Tempatan Fest 2023 (Festival & Concert) @ Dataran MPKJ, Stadium Kajang (3 – 4 June, 10 am – 10 pm)

If you love Pesta Kopi these previous years, then you’re going to love this festival even more.

Tempatan Fest, the one who organised Pesta Kopi and other cool events is celebrating their 10-year anniversary this weekend in Kajang. There will be more than just coffee there. They’ll have around 100 vendors, street artists and brands with 30 live performances on 2 stages as well.

Some of the big names that you’ll be seeing here are M.Nasir, OAG and many more.

2. Kabut In The Park (Yard Sale) @ KLPAC, Sentul Park (3 June, 9 am – 2 pm)

Kabut in the Park is a yard sale that started just as a car boot sale for people who wanted to get rid of their preloved items for less. Started by Evangeline Lim, this mere car boot sale ended up sprouting into a big pop-up market at Sentul Park.

You can shop for eco-friendly items, enjoy the unique flavours of Thailand, bring home preloved items from clothes to vintage cameras, visit their petting zoo and even have a picnic in the park.

Just remember, this is a sustainable market so bring your own recyclable bags, tiffin carriers, bottles and cutleries!

3. Lokal Ture (Pop-up Market) @ The School, Jaya One (3 & 4 June, 11 am – 9 pm)

Organised by Lokalwave, Lokal Ture is a weekend market that sells everything cool from vintage items to fresh beverages and lip-smacking snacks.

This weekend, you can browse for preloved clothes and stylish accessories, get cute matching tattoos with your friends or just jam along to live performances by local artists.

4. Traders Market (Pop-up Market) @ Tiffin At The Yard, Sentul Depot (3 – 4 June, 2 pm – 10 pm)

Discover the heart of local entrepreneurship at the Traders Market in Tiffin! Join them in celebrating creativity and craftsmanship within our community.

From homemade condiments to fashion-forward finds and home decor, discover one-of-a-kind treasures that resonate with your unique self.

5. D’Masiv 20AD To The World Tour – Live In KL (Concert) @ Zepp KL (3 June, 8 pm)

In conjunction with celebrating their 20-year musical journey in the Indonesian entertainment industry, D’Masiv will be having their first-ever solo concert in Kuala Lumpur. 20AD To The World is D’Masiv’s tour series for 2023 and the tickets for their first-day concert are even sold out.

D’Masiv is known for songs like Cinta Ini Membunuhku, Cinta 1/2 Mati and Pergilah Kekasih.

6. Thrift Drift (Pop-up Market) @ Stellar Coffee Bar, RexKL (3 – 4 June, 10 am – 6 pm)

Stellar Market will be back this weekend at RexKL.

This time, Stellar will host Thrift Drift, a mini flea market featuring pre-loved and vintage goods, hand poke tattoos, and a tooth gem workshop!

7. Jom Heboh (Carnival) @ Dataran Karnival Stadium Shah Alam (3 – 4 June, 9 am – 11 pm)

Celebrating TV3’s 39th year in the media industry, they’re celebrating it by doing a Jom Heboh carnival again but this time in Shah Alam.

Bring your family for a fun-themed weekend by enjoying the food festival, participating in competitions, browsing through exhibitions, and meeting local artists for live performances. Some of the artists you’ll meet are Khai Bahar, Aizat Amdan, Hazama and many more.

8. Baby Metal World Tour 2023 KL (Concert) @ Zepp KL (4 June, 8 pm)

BabyMetal, the popular Japanese kawaii heavy metal girl band, is about to rock Malaysia with their first-ever concert on June 4th!

With their unique fusion concept of heavy metal and Japanese idols, they started gaining fame among the public across the globe. Apart from attending various music festivals with Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and other legendary rock groups, they were also the opening guest for Lady Gaga’s tour.

Now, they return with their Asian tour which consists of Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur.

8. Magical Heart (Art Exhibition) @ The Grey Box, GMBB (3 – 4 June, 11 am – 8 pm)

Part of creating a healing space through art, The Messy Club is all about supporting the local artists and this year, we present you the Magical Heart Art Exhibition followed by 9 talented artists!

From this exhibition, you will get to know & learn more about the artist and the artwork itself.

9. Lesgo 7th Heaven (Pop-up Market) @ Lalaport Rooftop (3-4 June, 11 am – 10 pm)

Here at the pop-up bazaar on a rooftop, you can find amazing food, local crafts, artwork, designs, accessories and lifestyle items from more than 80 local entrepreneurs.

There will also be amazing performances from our local music talents from vocal to dance performances.

10. Tukar Tangan Preloved Market (Pop-up Preloved Market) @ Utrapolis Glenmarie, Shah Alam (3 -4 June, 11 am – 6 pm)

Tukar Tangan is a market medley of handmade crafts, preloved collections, apparel, vintage knick-knacks, and home decorative items.

They’re all available at a very affordable price of below RM50 per item.

You can catch them this weekend at Utrapolis Glenmarie, just in front of Mr DIY.

11. Singgah Sini (Pop-up Market) @ Amcorp Mall, PJ (3 – 4 June, 10 am, 8 pm)

 Singgah Sini is a pop-up market organized by the Lubok Flea Market. They usually organize flea markets, vintage markets and car boot sales.

This time around they’re setting foot at Amcorp Mall, concourse area for a market of mixed elements from lifestyle (Fashion, thrift, accessories, activities etc), melody (Music Equipments, Music Instruments, Vinyl, Cds, Cassettes etc), art (Painting, Sculptures, Decorative items, antique, etc) and refreshments (Packed food, drinks, snacks, desserts and many more).

12. Andmesh Kamaleng Live In KL (Concert) @ Plenary Hall, KLCC (4 June, 8 pm)

Award-winning Indonesian singer-songwriter Andmesh Kamaleng will be performing his first concert in Malaysia in June. Known for his hit song “Cinta Luar Biasa”, Andmesh’s concert in KL is expected to last two hours, with a setlist of some 15 songs, performed by six musicians. Plus, the music arrangement in the upcoming concert will also be different, made especially for fans in Malaysia.
