The National Security Council has recently come up with the SOPs throughout the Christmas period.

Based on reports from Malay Mail, while large-scale events are not allowed for both Christmas and New Year’s, small private functions are still allowed, provided that those who attend must test themselves for Covid-19.

Here’s what you need to know:

Implementation date: 24 December (Christmas Eve) and 25 December (Christmas Day)

Prayer ceremonies: allowed according to the Opening of Non-Muslim Houses of Worship SOPs.

Choirs: allowed by practicing physical distancing of not less than one meter and wearing a face mask or face shield.

Visiting family members: allowed only for complete vaccine recipients

Choir singing ceremony (caroling) from house to house: not allowed

Christmas stalls: subject to the approval and control of the Local Authority
