Malaysia has broken another record today as the country reports 3,309 new Covid-19 cases on 12 January 2021. From these cases, 3,303 were local transmissions and six were imported.
The Health Ministry (MOH) said that 78% of cases were identified in states that would be placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) starting tomorrow as Selangor reported the most infections with 1,007 cases, followed by Johor with 442 and Sabah with 409.
Four more deaths were also recorded today as well as 110,584 patient recoveries.
Malaysia’s Covid-19 case total now stands at 141,533 recorded cases, 30,390 active cases, 110,584 recoveries and 559 fatalities.
Malaysia’s previous all-time-high daily case report was 3,021 cases recorded on 7 January.
