In just three days since applications opened, the Malaysian Immigration Department has already reached their maximum quota for commuters travelling on the first three days under the recent Malaysia-Singapore RGL, PCA cross-border travel schemes.
According to Johor Immigration Department director Baharuddin Tahir, his department has already received 180 Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) applications and 6,000 Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA) applications, filling up their quota for commuters on 17th, 18th, and 19th August.
Under the RGL, we allow 400 people a week, so that means between 50 and 60 people per day. As for the PCA, it’s 2,000 people per day.

He added that commuters would only be notified on their result of application a day before their travel dates. So, if you’re among those who have applied, do make sure you have all your necessary documents on hand and are ready to depart ASAP.
Speaking to reporters at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex in Bangunan Sultan Iskandar here today, Baharuddin said the relevant departments and agencies would deploy sufficient personnel at the bus, pedestrian, car, and motorcycle lanes to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Meanwhile, Johor State Health director Dr Aman Rabu who was also at the location with Baharuddin, said the state health department was ready to reopen the border and conduct Covid-19 screenings and tests.
