Asics won’t let nasi lemak trend die, releases limited edition nasi lemak sneakers
If you thought the nasi lemak trend died a few years ago,
well, guess what?
It’s still alive and kicking.
Forget the nasi lemak burgers or condoms, now there’s nasi lemak sneakers.
Brought to you by the madlads at Asics Malaysia who refuse to let the nasi lemak trend die, there now exists a sneaker as spicy as sambal yet as cool as sliced cucumber.
The ‘GEL-Kayano 5’ sneaker is decked in nasi lemak colours; a bed of white rice dipped in chilli red and streaked with yolk yellow, browned anchovies & nuts as well as the deep green of the cucumber and banana leaf packet.
According to men’s fashion site Hypebeast, the Asics’s ‘Nasi Lemak’ sneaker is cooked up with retail store Hundred% and SneakerLAH, Malaysia’s biggest sneaker event.
If you got the (sam)bal to put on these spicy kicks and RM599 to spare, take note that you can only get your hands on them at the SneakerLAH 2019 event that’s happening on 5th & 6th October at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.
