What Does St. Patrick’s Day, Whiskey And A Clothing Brand Have In Common?

As Malaysians we’ve all experienced the joys of St. Patrick’s Day at least once in our lives. The festivities usually involve a few drinks, a lot of laughter, and more than a few silly hats. But do you really know what St. Patrick’s Day is all about?

Although St. Patrick’s Day is, in it’s best historical form, a day to commemorate the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, it’s better known as a day to celebrate Irish culture and heritage. Wherever you are though, St. Paddy’s is the one day across the globe, every single one of us becomes Irish. And what better way to celebrate being Irish than with some good ol’ Irish Whiskey. 

We can get into a whole spiel about the difference between Whiskey and Whisky, but the gist of it can be chalked up to early 19th century marketing. The Irish were making better quality spirits at the time and wanted a way to distinguish themselves from their Scottish counterparts. Today, it’s a whole different ballgame and we are not about to venture down that rabbit hole.

But what we can tell you, is that in line with marketing more appropriate to this era, Jameson has teamed up with the good people from Pestle & Mortar Clothing to bring you exclusive limited-edition merchandise to commemorate a very different kind of St. Patrick’s Day this year. 

This one-of-a-kind line depicts the foundations on which Jameson was founded, via Pestle & Mortar Clothing’s unique, and stand-out designs. Together, they bring added meaning to that very foundation of Sine Metu – the Jameson family motto that’s Latin for Without Fear.. Having taken on the collaboration with a much needed dose of “fresh”, it includes two t-shirt designs, a cap, a tote bag and a special Jameson bottle gift pack.

These very limited-edition pieces will be available on Pestle & Mortar’s site and official Shopee store.

So, what do St. Patrick’s Day, whiskey and a clothing brand have in common? You! As part of a month-long celebration of St. Patrick’s, topping off the collaboration with Pestle & Mortar Clothing, Jameson is calling out for you to “Join In, Wherever You Are” and be a part of Jameson Connects.

The specially curated virtual event is to be hosted by radio and television personality Ryan Matjeraie, accompanied by performances from Kaya, Ryot Jones, NYK and Talitha Tan. But that’s not all! Everything from bar challenges to a BBQ cook-off and even a quiz night have been arranged to bring the joy of St. Patricks to you, wherever you may be.

Jameson Connects will be livestreamed on Jameson Malaysia’s Facebook and Instagram pages on Friday, 19th March 2021 at 8pm onwards. Participants will also have access to special promo codes for use on products and special merchandise!
