Famous Malaysian stand-up comedian and the host of Fly FM’s morning show Kavin Jayaram also known as Kavin Jay is suddenly missing from Twitter.

This happened after comments he made amidst the whole Jocelyn Chia issue did not sit well with some netizens.

“Everyone has suddenly turned into experts in Stand-up Comedy Overnight. There is so much advice and methods on how to be funny now” he said.

When a netizen commented saying that tragedies are not a content for jokes, Kavin replied by asking would one tell a surgeon what to do.

Although this does not seem like a post that is directly supportive of the jokes made by Chia on Malaysia and the MH370 tragedy, some perceived it as sarcasm.

Many comedians have commented on the issue including comedian Harith Iskander.

Along with Kavin, another comedian, Jason Leong has also been on the receiving end of criticism.

It is true as mentioned by Kavin, that no one can be an expert in doing comedy overnight. Nevertheless, not everything can be turned into stand-up material.
