Recently, a 17-year-old convenience store worker in Semenyih was punched and attacked by a customer who apparently wanted to steal only 3 umbrellas.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera and the footage has since gone viral on social media. It happened at a 7-Eleven store in Bandar Rinching, Semenyih yesterday (20 June) at around 5 am.

According to Harian Metro, two men entered the store seemingly drunk and wanted to buy drinks. One of them then grabbed three umbrellas and went out of the premises without making any payment.

The teen worker then confronted the customer and they both got into a dispute. Then because of the argument, the suspect came back into the store and punched the worker in the face. He then continued to hit the worker and even kicked him in the face before his friend held him back for a second.

Another worker witnessing the event tried to stop the brawl but was not successful. After the attack, the man even came back and recorded the victim on the floor with his phone as if to taunt him.

What’s even weirder is that the friend who came in with the guy took a selfie with the bloodied victim, smiling.

The victim then reported the incident to the police the same day at 7.43 pm after going to the hospital to receive treatment. His father, Shahrul Aminshah Aziz, 40, even pleaded for help from the public for any information regarding the two suspects.

He said that his 17-year-old son was just working part-time at the convenience store, looking forward to making a little money after just finishing his SPM.

Suspects each had previous criminal & drug cases

After the police report, cops managed to catch the two suspects earlier today (21 June).

Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said that the two suspects, aged 31 and 32 respectively, were arrested at two different locations by Branch D9 of the Criminal Investigation Division, Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD).
