Hygiene is a necessity for every human being. Maintaining a clean environment when it comes to running a restaurant is very important especially the cleanliness of the washrooms.

Recently, a tweet of a “BMW grade” washroom at a popular restaurant in Ipoh Old Town caught the attention of many including Local Government Development Minister (KPKT) Nga Kor Ming.

“Thank you to the famous Nam Heong coffee shop in Ipoh Old Town for their cooperation in accepting the KPKT’s recommendation to build a ‘BMW’ class clean toilet. This is not a decorative picture, but this sparkling gold toilet was just completed today. Well done & hope everyone keeps it clean!” he said in his tweet.

From the pictures that were shared by Nga, it can be seen that the newly-built toilet has surpassed many restaurants with their gold-coloured fittings.

Many chimed in to share their views.

We have seen many instances where Nga had been stressing on the cleanliness issue of public toilets.

Early this year, the government has agreed to a new policy where food and beverage (F&B) industry operators would not be able to renew their licence if they do not have an A grade toilet at their premises from next year onwards.

To see a restaurant going the extra mile to provide clean facilities for customers shows that cleanliness is top priority.
