If there’s one thing that the people of Klang Valley are very familiar with, it’s water cuts — unscheduled or scheduled.

Today Air Selangor announced that residents of 99 areas in Klang, Shah Alam, and Kuala Selangor are set to face water cuts due to emergency repair works that will take place next week.

The water disruption is also expected to last from May 22 up till May 23.

In a statement on Facebook, the state water supplier noted that water supply will be distributed to consumers in stages when the repair works are completed.

They added that this will only be done once the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised.

Furthermore, Air Selangor added that the repairs involve a main distribution pipe with a diameter of 2,200mm and a large-scale distribution area.

Therefore, the repair and recovery period takes a longer time to be completed. However, if the leak becomes critical, the emergency work to repair the broken pipe will start earlier than the expected date.

Air Selangor also advised affected customers to store adequate amounts of water supply as the time taken for supply to recover in affected areas will vary by location and water pressure at the distribution system.

We advise the affected customers to store an adequate water supply and use water prudently during the unscheduled water supply disruption period.
