Yesterday a shop went viral on Twitter after a customer found that his iced tea to-go arrived in a dirty flower pot.

The post which was shared by Twitter user @MALAYSIAVIRALLL also showed several pictures of the dirty flower pot.

The caption read:

How can a restaurant overlook a cleanliness issue such as this? Ordered a bowl of teh o ais and it arrived in a dirty vase, it was already dirty and smelled like garbage. The store’s location is at Restaurant 3 Lautan Bandar Tun Razak Cheras, next to Star Grocer supermarket.

Twitter users flocked to the comment section to share their opinions on the issue.

As Twitter user @FaaezAmiruddin put it, he too had a similar experience with the same shop.

Haah I too just experienced this. I think they picked this (pot) up from the rubbish bin.

Another Twitter user @hafifaumitis questioned the need to get an already ready-to-go drink in a bowl or in this case, a pot.

I don’t understand why people order drinks that are already packed in plastic and then ask to be placed in a plastic bowl. More plastic, more dishes.

On the other hand, Twitter user @KhalidNorazmi suggested that this may have been done by a disgruntled employee.

He tweeted:

Probably a disgruntled employee taking it out on the customer to make the kedai (shop) look bad.

Sharing some valuable information with netizens who may have faced similar situations, Twitter user @prettylupins tweeted:

If you may have eaten at a dirty shop or something similar, please report it to the Ministry of Health so they may conduct a spotcheck on the location. Let them close for cleaning. Pity the people who paid and got unclean food items.

If you’ve ever come across a similar situation, it is advisable that you contact the Food Safety and Quality Division (FSQD) which was established by the Ministry of Health to ensure that the food processing activities are in compliance to the hygiene and safety requirements.

You may place your complaints at FSQD’s official Facebook page here.
