Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, has resorted to recruiting the locals to hunt down Hamas members in Malaysia in their continuous worldwide war against the Palestine-based Islamist movement.

According to New Straits Times, the recent abduction of a Palestinian man, a programming expert, said to have ties with Hamas, was allegedly conducted by Malaysian Mossad’s operatives.

The programmer was kidnapped on 28 September at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in Kuala Lumpur by four men, which were believed to be operating on behalf of Mossad.

His friend tried to intervene but was warned to stay away by the operatives.

The report stated that the abducted Palestinian was then brought to a chalet in Kuala Langat where he was interrogated via video call by Israeli agents.

The victim is said to be beaten by the Malaysian operatives when his answers were not to the Israelis’ satisfaction.

“The Israelis wanted to know about his experience in computer application development, Hamas’ strength in developing software, members of the Al-Qassam Brigade that he knew and their strengths,” the English daily quoted a source with knowledge of the case.

However, the computer programmer was saved by the police 24 hours after he was kidnapped. The men in blue were alerted of the kidnapping by his friend who reported the incident at the Dang Wangi police station.

The report also stated that there was a miscommunication between the Malaysian Mossad operative with their handler as they should have abducted both Palestinian programmers instead of only one.

The victim, who sustained injuries to his body, head and legs has since left Malaysia.

Eleven Malaysian nationals, including a woman, have been charged with kidnapping the Palestinian man.

They were Edy Koim Said, Norakmal Hassan, Dody Junaidi, Tengku Arif Bongsu Tengku Hamid, Naziree Mustapha, Faizull Hardrey Isa, Iqmal Abdul Rahis, Sufian Saly, Al-Hatim Fauzi, Raibafie Adnan and Nidarahayu Zainal.

This was not the first time that Mossad had allegedly carried out its operation on the nation’s soil.

On 21 April 2018, Fadi Mohamed al-Batsh, 35, a Palestinian professor and member of Hamas, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Kuala Lumpur, with his family accusing Mossad to be behind the murder, although it was denied by Israel’s intelligence agency.
