Police Find No Gangsterism Elements But Mischief In MRSM Kuantan Bullying Case

Some students in MRSM Kuantan allegedly had their school uniforms and hair cut-up by an unknown person.

Kuantan police released a statement regarding the case in MRSM Kuantan on 13 August 2022.

The police confirmed they have received reports from the victim’s mother and school. They have also taken statements from the teachers, students and victim’s mother regarding the harassment that began on June 2022.

Initial investigation by the police revealed that there’s no element of gangsterism in the case.

However, the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief resulting in loss or damages.

Some netizens found the statement provided a dissatisfying conclusion.

They couldn’t accept that the authorities found no gangsterism elements in the case when the students were allegedly physically and emotionally harassed.

Hopefully, the police will be able to resolve the prolonged issue soon.

What happened?

Since June 2022, a 14-year-old girl and her schoolmates have been allegedly harassed by an unknown person.

The girl and her schoolmates have had their school uniforms scribbled on and cut up. The perpetrator also intimidated the girls by scribbling on the bathroom walls and leaving a threatening note for the 14-year-old victim.

Things came to a head when the girl and her roommates woke up to find their hair cut short while they slept at night.

The victim’s mother claimed that the school management, wardens and the police didn’t take any actions to solve the issue.

She voiced her dissatisfaction online on Facebook and uploaded pictures of the cut-up uniforms and hair, a threatening letter, and scribbled walls.

She has either taken down the Facebook post or made her account private at the time of writing.
