Lotus’s Malaysia is ending 2022 with a bang!

The retailer is launching its ‘2K’ store at one of the largest and hottest lifestyle destinations up north, at the Aman Central shopping centre in Alor Star, Kedah.

This brings the number of Lotus’s stores across the Peninsular to 65 in total.

With its “Jiran Baru Anda” tagline, Lotus’s aims to bring Every Day SMART Delights to the neighbourhood by offering the best value for money, quality and a wide selection of Lotus’s Own Brand products to customers, and becoming the heart of the community.

According to Lotus’s Malaysia President Kenneth Chuah, current retail trends show that consumers prefer to shop in smaller stores located nearer to their homes.

He explained that Lotus’s will focus on time-saving, increasing value for money and the incorporation of technology such as self-checkout counters and the ‘Scan & Shop’ application to bring SMART delights and convenience to customers in Alor Setar and future locations.

In celebration of Lotus’s Aman Central, Lotus’s customers nationwide will get to enjoy discounts, free samples, gifts such as free cotton candy giveaways and goodies worth RM20 with minimum spending of RM50 at Lotus’s Aman Central between December 15 and 18.

Community spirit

Kenneth says that Lotus’s Aman Central is 100% manned by Malaysians, creating more employment for the community in the area.

Lotus’s also offers employment opportunities for senior citizens and disabled people in their stores.

In keeping with the #KitakanJiran community spirit, Lotus’s Aman Central will continue with the brand’s commitment to addressing access to nutritious and healthy food via its collaboration with Kindness Malaysia (a local partner to the Food Aid Foundation) for its food surplus distribution programme.

The Food Surplus Programme involves all Lotus’s stores distributing safe and edible food items daily like bakery, vegetables and fruits through Lotus’s charity partners, the Food Aid Foundation and Kechara Soup Kitchen.

The food items are then distributed to those in need in the neighbourhood community.

To date, the retailer has successfully rescued approximately 2,368,785 kilograms, equivalent to more than 10 million meals of unsold but safe edible food, from going to landfills.
