‘Yes, Sanusi Is Popular…Like ‘Mr Bean’, Says Mahfuz

Kedah Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar has shot back at Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor over accusations of him riding on the latter’s popularity.
As reported by the New Straits Times, Mahfuz reportedly said:
I was also surprised. When will I surpass his popularity? But I admit he is very popular like ‘Mr Bean’. Mr Bean is very popular with his jokes, so he (Sanusi) can sing, so he is very popular and funny like Mr Bean.

Mahfuz said this in response to Sanusi’s claim that he was trying to gain popularity through a defamation suit against him.
Earlier, NST also reported that the Kedah Menteri Besar called on Mahfuz to stop seeking cheap publicity over the defamation suit award granted to him by the court.
According to the report, Sanusi claimed that he had handed over the RM120,000 awarded to be paid to Mahfuz through his lawyer and their lawyers are currently settling the issue.
He also told reporters present at the national Pas Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House held at Kedah Pas Complex:
He should not have used Facebook, TikTok or all that (social media platforms). There is no bankruptcy issue for not paying (because) everything is handled by a lawyer.
