Videos and images of the dark smoke rising over the mall quickly spread online and drew some hilarious speculations.
Some said maybe a shopper tried to burn all the receipts so the husband never finds out or it was another Karen throwing a fit by setting a fire in the mall.
A netizen said it was probably caused by an angry shopper who didn’t get to buy the MoonSwatch watch.

Pavilion says it was a kitchen fire
Pavilion KL posted a statement on Facebook to assure customers that business goes on as usual.
Pavilion explained that a small fire broke out in one of the restaurant kitchens on Level 1 around 2.10pm.
The fire was promptly put out and the incident was reported to the Fire and Rescue Department.
Pavilion added that no one was hurt in the incident and everything is back to normal.
However, the mall’s Operations and Security Department are working with the Fire and Rescue Department to investigate the cause of the fire.
Pavilion reassures shoppers and tenants that they continue to take all necessary precautionary measures to ensure everyone’s safety and health.
According to Buletin FM, the fire was caused by a duck roaster in one of the restaurants in the mall.
