48 PKR members including Deputy Women Chief Dr Daroyah Alwi have announced that they are leaving the party.
Dr Daroyah also quit her role as Kapar’s Division Chief and Selangor Women Chief.
Malay Mail reported that Dr Daroyah left the party along with 48 others from the Selangor Women leadership and Kapar division leadership.
She said that she didn’t want to be involved in the “leadership tussle” and added that she has lost confidence in the party’s President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership which has strayed away from PKR’s Reformasi agenda.
This sentiment was shared by 13 other Selangor PKR Women leaders, Dr Daroyah said as she was confident that many other leaders will follow her footsteps.
She also said that she will remain as an independent assemblyman and would resign as the deputy Speaker.
I will be an independent Adun (state assemblyman) but friendly to the PN (Perikatan Nasional) government.
