After police investigations over possible Movement Control Order (MCO) violation, Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and 14 others have escaped charges.

Malay Mail reported that the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) instructed no further action (NFA) into the case.

According to Terengganu state police chief Datuk Roslee Chik, the police completed investigations on 15 people, including Terengganu Umno Liaison Committee chairman and former Terengganu MB Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, for the alleged MCO violations under Section 6 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.

The important people there are the YB menteri besar and the former menteri besar; the rest of the people who attended the gathering, the DPP (deputy public prosecutor) decided not to charge them.

Rolsee told Malay Mail that the investigation papers from AGC arrived today with NFA instructions, but he did not specify the reason behind the decision.

The group were lambasted online after Dr Ahmad Samsuri shared pictures of his visit to Ahmad Said’s home on 17th April. Several other individuals were also seen in the background.

After the backlash, Ahmad Said justified that the home visit was to discuss important matters on distributing aid to the needy,  while volunteers from the Kijal state constituency were there arranging donations to be handed out.

Earlier today, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali, Perak executive councillor Razman Zakaria and 13 others were charged in court and fined RM1,000 for violating the MCO after having a group meal in Lenggong on 18th April.
