An elderly woman was recently caught stealing toilet paper from a shopping mall.
According to the person who caught her, she had done it a few times before and was never remorseful.
However, when caught this time, she expressed regret and said she would return the stolen items.
Despite her apology, the woman was asked to remove her face mask before being let go.
The incident was recorded on video and quickly went viral on Facebook, sparking a debate among netizens.
The woman, carrying an orange and black reusable bag, appeared crying in the video and begged to be let go.

The person recording the video continued to film the woman, who was accompanied by a man that appeared speechless.
The person behind the camera asked the woman to remove her mask so that others could recognize her and be aware in case she stole toilet rolls again somewhere else.
She promptly took off her mask while stepping back.
The cameraman followed her out of the building and watched her leave the premises.
After that, the woman walked towards a parked Toyota and seemed as though she was about to get in before the video ended.
The incident was said to have happened at a Toyota service centre in Singapore.
