A former DJ had a shock after getting a missed call from the bank in the wee hours of the morning.

Luke Loke woke up and found that his bank balance was negative, amounting to more than RM90 million.

According to the Chinese daily Sin Chew, Loke shared his experience on Facebook.

I don’t know what happened, I just know that at 5:18 a.m. Paris time, the bank called me, but because I was sleeping, I didn’t receive the call.

Luke Loke sharing the incident on Facebook.

Loke pointed out that after waking up, he checked his account.

He thought it was only a few hundred ringgit missing, but after calculation, he realised the colossal amount at stake.

Loke added that the transaction records did not state what happened.

To make things worse, he couldn’t call his bank due to the massive time difference between Paris and Kuala Lumpur.

In a later post, Luke said he managed to wake up at 2 am in Paris to call his bank.

Loke, also a travel blogger, said he managed to talk to a bank manager who sorted things out for him.

In the post, Loke also attached a picture of him drinking coffee to show everyone he is fine.

Loke said the episode had drawn criticism from netizens but is unperturbed by the comments.

He also deleted the earlier post as he did not want the bank employees to get into further trouble due to the incident.

At the same, many netizens said they were glad to know he is now alright.

They also expressed concerns about the vulnerability of Malaysian banks, especially when the account holder is overseas.
