The 2022 edition of the Heineken Star Academy finale saw seven finalists vying for the coveted Star Quality National Champion.
The finalists, who came from various bars across the country, had partaken in Heineken’s Star Bartenders program.
They went through professional training in mastering the art of bartending and the iconic Heineken Star Serve.
The top spot went to youngster Vickson Leong from Speakeasy Bar & Kitchen, Ipoh, Perak.
Crowned Heineken Star Bartender of 2022, Leong was also handsomely rewarded with a three-day, two-night all-expenses-paid trip to Langkawi, and a host of other prizes.
The finalists were presented with the trophy and prizes from Heineken Malaysia’s managing director Roland Bala and marketing director, Pablo Chabot.

Due to the pandemic, the Heineken Star Academy had taken a two-year break.
The recent event was held at The Square, Publika, Kuala Lumpur.

During the event, Heineken – one of the greatest brands in the world – took consumers on an immersive and educational journey through its Star Quality Experience.
Star Quality Experience winds back the clock as it takes consumers through the history of Heineken, including the logo evolution over time.
Consumers also learned how the quality of the product makes the Heineken brand so successful.
The Star Quality Experience shed light on how Heineken’s carefully selected premium ingredients such as yeast give a special taste to the beer.
Consumers were also enlightened on how special fermentation techniques bring the best out of the special ingredient for the best-tasting beer.
Heineken kept to its promise to make things unforgettable, and many took to social media to share their memorable experience.

Since 1975, most Heineken brand beer has been brewed at their brewery in Zoeterwoude, Netherlands.
In 2011, 2.74 billion litres of Heineken brand beer were produced worldwide, while the total beer production of all breweries fully owned by the Heineken Group over all brands was 16.46 billion litres globally.
