KL Underwater Again: Malaysians Share Scenes Of Flash Floods In The City

Today’s (7 March) torrential downpour has the nation’s capital under siege by floods once again.

Malaysians are going online to share reports of flash floods occurring in several parts of Kuala Lumpur.

Images and videos distributed via social media and personal messaging applications showed waist-deep water submerging cars believed to be stranded along Jalan Kucai Lama.

Netizens are also sharing scenes of water rising in Pudu, Masjid Jamek and other major areas across the city.

According to Malaysian Insight journalist Elill Easwaran, sources from the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) confirmed that certain parts of the city were underwater.

People are advised to take great caution when commuting in and out of the city as netizens also report that several roads have been blocked by water.

Live traffic reports online show several major routes in KL in complete gridlock.

Floods have been reported at the Tabung Haji tunnel, Chan Sow Lin tunnel, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Sri Pemaisuri, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Pahang.
