The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will open bids for the ‘DEH’ registration number series soon.
The ‘ore Kelate’ (Kelantanese) are expected to snap up the series as the term ‘DEH’ is synonymous with their everyday speech.
Deh means good or okay and it is usually uttered at the end of a sentence to ask for blessings or approval.
The series will be open for bidding for five days from 17 to 21 March, with the bidding results to be announced on 22 March.
The bid for the serial number can be made online through the Online Vehicle Registration Number Bidding System (JPJeBid).
There is no limit on the number of vehicle registration numbers that one can select.
However, each person can only win a maximum of three numbers, while a company can win up to five numbers.
Each bid will be charged a service fee of RM10.
Selling personalised number plates to the highest bidder has made a fortune for the government.

Not surprising for a nation with plenty of car owners.
Very often, car buyers wish to pick their own vehicle registration numbers that bring personal significance.
Unique number plates are also a sign of status and symbol for the wealthy.
In 2020, the PPP number plate bidding broke the JPJ record with close to RM7.3 million collected.
“Malaysia 1” is the highest bid number plate in Malaysia, it went under the hammer for RM 1,111,111.
