Social activist Kuan Chee Heng is recovering after testing positive for Covid-19.

Popularly known as Uncle Kentang, he shared on Facebook that he has been doing better at Serdang Hospital.

In his latest Facebook posting, Kuan said his blood oxygen level had risen to 97 based on pulse oximeter reading. A level between 95 and 97% is considered normal.

He received treatments for category 4 Covid-19, which requires oxygen assistance and an average of 14 days of care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

His blood oxygen levels had plunged and there were concerns he was on the verge of being placed on a ventilator.

Eventually, his condition became more stable, with a slight fever with a mild cough.

Kuan thanked well-wishers for their care and concern, saying he was touched by the outpouring of support.

Kuan also promised to reply to all messages once he is well.

One Who Never Forgets To Do Good

During his downtime, Kuan had to close his office for several days and also shut down the hotline except for ambulance services.

Despite his situation, Kuan arranged to increase Covid-19 ambulance units by two to help many people who have been affected by Covid-19.

He also reminded fellow Malaysians to stay safe and wear face masks at all times.

Call 012-2423360 for Covid-19-related services and contact 011-55052148 for ambulance services.
