Yesterday on 17 May (Sunday) 1,175 vehicles tried to cross state borders to balik kampung. However, PDRM instructed these vehicles to turn back.
The day before, 1,248 vehicles were ordered to turn back by the authorities.
Cumulatively, 2,423 vehicles over the weekend were stopped.
Ismail Sabri then said he hoped that Malaysians will refrain from interstate travel to balik kampung.
Yesterday, the minister stated that police will issue compounds from today to those caught violating the CMCO.
