Fed up, Malaysia sends back Spain’s trash
Five containers of trash have already been returned to Spain, as announced today by Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Yeo Bee Yin (aka the Minister With The Longest Title).
Yeo is also charging countries which have smuggled illegal plastic waste into Malaysia. The illegal waste must also be taken back, or there will be additional fees to dispose of the foreign trash.
This is in response to containers of trash found in Port Klang in April.
Malaysia has always been on high alert for smuggled drugs, perhaps now we need to expand our priorities to include foreign trash!
