Celebrity Ebit Lew garnered criticism for helping an alleged homeless woman named Mondy after netizens found that she has millions of TikTok followers.

Celebrity preacher Ebit Lew denied allegations that he arranged the meet-up with a homeless and heavily tattooed woman named Mondy in Indonesia.

In Ebit’s TikTok video, he denied planning the meetup with Mondy in advance.

Ebit said Mondy drew the cheap tattoos herself and it was not expensive as some netizens claimed.

Regarding Mondy’s braces, it only costs RM15 (Rp50,000) in Indonesia. Mondy said the cheap braces are old and have lasted for many years.

She has been living a hard life since she was young. As we approached her, she started crying. She just left a rented home and she couldn’t afford to sleep on the street.

When Ebit asked her if she was looking for work, she wondered if anyone was willing to hire her. He said he would help her find a job.

Ebit added that Mondy cried after she was given clothes and tudung and said she wanted to be God’s servant.

During the live TikTok session, a man, who joined them in the live video, advised Ebit and Mondy to be patient with the negative views of others who were not happy with them.

What happened previously?

Netizens criticised Ebit for helping Mondy as they believed it was a staged encounter.

He allegedly came across Mondy in Jakarta when she was laying on the side of the road on a cardboard as she was homeless.

21-year-old Mondy is also a single mother with a 4-year-old child.

After giving her money and Muslim garb, he brought her to Malaysia so she could find a job.

Once she arrived in Malaysia, she started selling sambal with Ebit in a live TikTok session.

Ebit’s charity act was criticised by netizens who claimed that Mondy has millions of followers on TikTok and couldn’t believe she was homeless.

Those who have seen her Tiktok said her content seemed to be exploiting religion.

They also wondered how she managed to get expensive tattoos and braces done.
