The Earth is a place that belongs to all living beings. It is our duty as human beings to find a way to live with all of them in harmony. However recently it does not seem to be the case.

A viral photo of a dog being tied to the back of a lorry with what looks like a metal chain and being dragged on the road has been flooding social media platforms.

From the photo that was shared, it can be seen that there is no movement from the dog and it can be assumed that the animal is unconscious.

According to a netizen known as @drimavet, this incident is believed to take place at Serdang Jaya at 6 am.

According to Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM), they received the photo of the incident through their public hotline on the same day of the incident.

In their Facebook post, SAFM stated that they are not sure how far the poor animal was dragged or what is the state of the animal.

“According to what can be seen, it is possible that this dog has already died from being tortured like this.”

Witnesses to the incident were requested by SAFM to file a complaint with the Veterinary Department. SAFM also urged the authorities to look into the matter.

Since this incident hit social media platforms people have been fuming with anger.

However, one of the netizens questioned if the culprit is the lorry driver or if the individual was not aware of the situation.

According to the Animal Welfare Act 2015, torturing animals is prohibited and is punishable by a maximum 2-year prison sentence, a maximum RM100,000 fine, or both.
