A few stalls at the Ramadan Bazaar Raya Utara in Woodlands, Singapore raised eyebrows as they were selling pork products.

According to the Mothership Singapore, Marsiling Constituency Office stated that the non-compliance was discovered last weekend.

However, quick actions were taken to rectify the issue and it was stated in a Facebook post that the selling of pork have been stopped.

The Marsiling Constituency Office also stated that they will work to stop it from happening again in the future. They also appreciate the public sharing their worries, and offered their gratitude.

The fact that there are non-halal stalls in the bazaar was not accepted by many as they pointed out that the bazaar was being marketed as part of Ramadan.

Some remarked that if they had just called it a “pasar malam” (night market), then people would not have issues with pork being sold.

According to a report from Berita Harian, Azriman Mansor the chairman of the bazaar stated that there are more than 80 percent halal stalls at the bazaar.
