National shuttler Lee Zii Jia recently shared a story on his Instagram of a heart-warming letter he received from Darence Chan.

Lee said the letter meant a lot to him amidst all the negativity that was going on in his life.

Chan is a Youtuber who creates badminton-related content and watch-alongs. His YouTube channel is called All About Darence.

In the letter, Chan told Lee the latter’s watch-along content attracted the most views on his channel.

He also reminisced the semi-final match between Lee and Viktor Axelsen in the Indonesian Open and described it as nail-biting match.

It was the match that made Malaysians, myself included, very proud of your performance.

The young Youtuber is studying in Mancherster with the dreams of becoming a badminton journalist one day. In his letter to Lee, he claimed that the “typical local journalist” is very negative and he wanted to “challenge the convention and write the positive side of the story that has typically been put aside by the media.”

Along with the letter, Chan sent Lee a Manchester United club magazine as a way to encourage the shuttler to bounce back from his previous performance, just like how the English football club is doing in the current Premier League season.

On Twitter, Chan said he could not believe that he was tagged in Lee’s story. However, people on the internet assured him that it was true and also shared their thoughts of his wonderful gesture.

Many congratulated Chan and said he deserved the recognition from Lee.

This shows Lee will always have the support from his fans through his ups and downs.

Although he lost in the semi-finals of the All England Open, his fans know that he will be back much stronger for his upcoming tournaments.
