Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and Pakatan Harapan’s Steven Sim Chee Keong as his deputies in the Finance Ministry yesterday (9 December).

On Facebook, Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim thanked Anwar Ibrahim for appointing him as the deputy finance minister.

Previously, he was the Youth and Sports deputy minister during the 2018 Pakatan Harapan administration.

Netizens dug up an old Twitter post

Netizens were quick to dredge up one of Steven Sim’s old Twitter posts from 2015.

Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim once wrote that his mission was to bring down a government that has people like Ahmad Maslan in it.

The old tweet that didn’t age well tickled many netizens who now wondered how Steven will work with Ahmad Maslan in the finance ministry under Anwar Ibrahim.

Some netizens said both men will have to stop fighting each other, put aside their differences, and learn how to treat each other with respect for the sake of the nation.

Most importantly, both deputy ministers should keep politics away from the finance ministry.

Another netizen said everyone should be careful with their words because karma will hit back one day.
