Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not rule out the possibility for the coalition to work together with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).
However, the PKR president stressed that the collaboration must not be done simply to defeat UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN).
While coming together is pleasing to the ears, Anwar said that any form of collaboration must be based on clear principles.
“Good governance, eliminating corruption, rejecting racist and religious fanatics policies, that is the main principle and if you agree, please (work together with us),” Anwar was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
Anwar said this during a press conference at PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
He was asked whether PH would cooperate with other political parties including the Parti Pejuang Negara (Pejuang) led by Dr Mahathir and the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) under the leadership of Muhyiddin despite the dark history between them.
“We (PH) are committed to implementing the reform agenda, fighting against corruption and power abuse. Anyone who agrees with this principle can come and discuss with us.”
