Alibaba.com recently launched its Pandemic Recovery Support Program in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Malaysia Digital Economy Cooperation (MDEC), to help more Malaysian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to expand their business internationally to counter the impact of Covid-19.

The program will provide free training courses to any interested SMEs to fast track their onboarding process.

Free Training For Onboarding

The Alibaba.com Seller Training E-Course (ASTE) is designed for suppliers new to the platform. It is a two-day online training program that offers 12 hours of online classroom sessions in four modules as well as guidance from experts and experienced online sellers.

Originally, the training course was only open to Alibaba.com paying members. But as a part of the program, it is made free for all.

On top of that, those who completed the course will be offered discounts on membership and onboarding service packages, keyword advertising credits, and Value-Added Services vouchers.

Funding For Training & Online Branding

To further assist Malaysian SMEs to make full use of the export facilitation available on cross border eCommerce platforms such as Alibaba.com, MATRADE offers RM5,000 under the eTRADE 2.0 Onboarding Scheme.

Companies that are already in the e-commerce space can leverage the Digital Marketing & Training (DMT) Scheme of up to RM20,000 to further enhance their visibility and branding in cross-border e-commerce.

The Alibaba.com Pandemic Recovery Support Program is open to Malaysian SMEs across multiple industries — from food & beverage and agriculture to timber and consumer electronics.

Training will begin in October 2021 and continue through to December 2021. An e-certificate of completion will be awarded to participants who complete all the training modules.

Interested SMEs can register for Open Day sessions on 7 or 13 October 2021 and the program here.
