The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has partnered with global online learning platform, Coursera, to provide 3,800 online courses for free to unemployed Malaysians.

With MDEC’s ‘Let’s Learn Digital’ campaign, Coursera’s annual USD399 (approx RM1,700) fee is waived.

This endeavor falls under the #mydigitalworkforce initiative which aims to enable the workforce to adapt themselves after the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

MDEC Chief Marketing Officer Raymond Siva told Bernama that it’s a great programme for Malaysians to pick up new skills and get ready to work in the digital economy post-COVID-19.

How it works

The courses available are part of Coursera Workforce Recovery initiative, which include professional certificates for various courses such as Google IT Automation with Python, SAS Programmer, and Intel Introduction to Deep Learning.

They are available until 31st December 2020.

Unemployed Malaysians need to register themselves at MDEC’s Let’s Learn Digital website (HERE) by 5pm, 30th September 2020.

Once registered, you have access to 3,800 courses until the end of the year for free.
