Everyone is excited to travel now and one of the popular destinations is none other than Bali in Indonesia!

To make sure your holidays go as smooth as possible, here are some things you need to know before you embark on your long-awaited trip and who knows it better other than someone who just arrived in Bali?

An Instagram user Zairin Zulkefli (@itsyennnn) who landed in Bali a few days ago shared some of the updated protocols to fly into the country from Malaysia.

Here’s what you need to know:

Before flying

  • Make sure you’ve done the PCR test.
  • Have your flight tickets ready.
  • Book a hotel for a minimum of 4 nights.
  • Ensure your travel insurance covers Covid-19 treatments.
  • Download the app Pedulilindungi (iOS, Android).
  • Fill up the Indonesian e-Hac (Electronic Health Alert Card).

On arrival

  • Pay for PCR test, costs around IDR 275,000 (RM81).
  • The authorities will check that travellers are fully vaccinated, have booked accommodations and have insurance coverage for Covid-19.
  • Be prepared to pay for Visa-On-Arrival (VOA) which costs IDR 500,000 (RM147) before exiting the airport.

Zairin said the whole process might take about 1 to 2 hours at the airport.

The travel protocols or SOPs might change, especially when more countries are moving to the endemic stage or reopening their borders.

Thus, it’s always better to be safe and check ahead for updates before making any travel plans.

Last but not least, have a safe and fun trip!
