Malaysia Has 42,500 “Sugar Daddies” Says Seeking Arrangement

Asia is said to be a hotbed for sugar dating, especially among the urban demographic.

Heads up ladies, because the word is out that Malaysia is home to 42,500 affluent “sugar daddies” promising you a life of luxury and success.

According to figures released by SeekingArrangement – an American based dating website which connects sugar daddies or mommies (#feminism) with young and eligible sugar babies – Malaysia ranks third in the top 10 Asian countries with the most number of sugar daddies registered on the platform.

The dating site revealed that there are a total of 556,000 sugar daddies in Asia who are seeking “mutually beneficial” relationships;

  • India – 338,000
  • Indonesia – 60,250
  • Malaysia – 42,500
  • Japan- 32,500
  • Hong Kong – 28,600
  • Taiwan – 27,300
  • Vietnam – 12,000
  • S. Korea – 7,000
  • Sri Lanka – 5,000
  • Cambodia – 3,500

Marketing data from 2019 revealed that Malaysians spent a total of RM24 million on online dating applications. Additionally, a 2017 research also showed that three out of 10 Malaysians are actively using online dating apps.

Figures from 2019 also show that the country suffers from a gender imbalance where Malaysian men outnumber women by 107 to 100.
