A cat always lands on its feet, doesn’t it? That’s because when they fall, they have a cat-righting reflex that allows them to turn while in the air, so they land safely on their feet.

But this particular cat in Bangkok didn’t land on its feet, in fact, he landed on someone’s car and crashed the window after falling from the 6th floor of its condo. The best part about it all, he still has 8 lives left, and escaped, unscathed. Talk about feline power.

Last Saturday (May 27), a man named Apiwat Toyothaka shared on his Facebook about a chonky cat named Master Shifu that weighed 8.5 kg falling on his car. He captured Shifu’s innocent face and the huge hole in his red MG Sedan’s rear window.

“The condominium manager called me at 7 am and told me that a cat fell on my car. I was confused about the matter. It was just a cat falling on my car. However, that cat weighed 8.5 kilogrammes and broke the window of my car. Ok, I got it now. #NoMoreMackerel #AlwaysWithCatStory”

According to The Thaiger, the condo manager, Orrasa, spoke to a local news outlet saying that she received a report about a fat cat falling on a car at around 7.30 am. She rushed to the scene and found broken shards of glass on the floor and the fat tabby cat underneath the car, with its innocent charade.

After questioning witnesses and checking the security cameras, she saw the chubby cat falling from the 6th floor to the 3rd floor and then falling on a car. Shifu was lucky to have caught on the third floor first before falling again further.

However, the guard had to charge Shifu’s owner for TBH1,000 (RM130) as the condominium has a strict no-pets policy.

Despite the damage to his car, Apiwat said that he was not angry at Shifu and its owner because the accident wasn’t intended, and he already forgave them. As a cat lover himself, he didn’t want anyone to blame the cat or the owner for the issue.

Furthermore, he also updated Shifu’s condition to the public, saying that he is still healthy and well. In fact, pictures of the X-ray and the vet’s inspection revealed no injury of a broken bone or bruising.

Master Shifu, who was apparently named after the character in Kung Fu Panda, just suffered two broken claws and a little blood clot there. Talk about the real Kung Fu Master.
