‘Suspended’ Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad today held a press conference where he announced that Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, as the party’s president, will be defending her Ampang parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Zuraida previously won the seat under the PKR ticket.
In the press conference, Nor Hizwan dismissed Datuk Larry Sng’s reason for suspending him as a ‘publicity stunt’.
Larry, in saying he is still PBM president yesterday, said Nor Hizwan and information chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid were suspended from duties because of a supreme council meeting held on 7 October which was not as instructed by him as party president.
Sng said Zuraida was appointed president in that meeting, and that he only knew of the outcome after the meeting had concluded.
Nor Hizwan however refuted Sng’s claim, saying the latter was aware of the meeting and had responded that he could not attend.
According to Nor Hizwan, Sng had also acknowledged Zuraida as the president in a WhatsApp conversation.
Nor Hizwan said their concern now was to move forward and focus on the upcoming GE.
