Selangorians worried about the state’s rise in Covid-19 red zones can breathe a sigh of relief as the latest data released by the Health Ministry shows that Petaling district is now a yellow zone.
As of 12pm on 3rd May, Petaling district records 39 active Covid-19 cases after the previous day’s 43 active cases that had put it in the red.
From mid-April, Malaysia has been exhibiting success in flattening the curve of Covid-19 infections as the number of green and yellow zones increased across the nation.
However, numbers from 2nd May indicated a jump in cases that pushed both Petaling and Gombak in Selangor into the red zone.
With the latest numbers, there are 9 Covid-19 red zones remaining in Malaysia:
- Lembah Pantai – 221 active cases
- Kuching – 131 active cases
- Kepong – 96 active cases
- Titiwangsa – 95 active cases
- Gombak – 87 active cases
- Kluang – 67 active cases
- Hulu Langat – 48 active cases
- Seremban – 45 active cases
- Kota Samarahan – 47 active cases
The number of yellow zones have increased to 62, while green zones are slightly lower at 86.
Malaysia currently has a total of 6,298 Covid-19 cases where 1,780 are active cases.
