KKM asks social media for help, netizens answer the call
Most of the time, the internet can get really toxic with people constantly berating each other over one thing or another. But, every now and then there are rare moments (that we like to hold on to) when the power of the internet is used for good!
On Monday, Bernama reported that the blood bank at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II in Kelantan was at a critical level.
According to the report, the hospital was facing an increase of emergency cases and surgeries during the Aidilfitri period, and that the existing blood bags at the hospital were sufficient only for the next three days.

The hospital was managing the shortage by getting hospital personnel themselves to donate blood. And so, hospital director Datuk Dr Selasawati Ghazali urged blood donors to come forward.
The official twitter page of KKM also shared the article, asking netizens to spread the word and invite their friends to the blood drive.
Penduduk di Kelantan, kami memerlukan bantuan anda.
Bantulah kami untuk menyelamatkan nyawa insan lain.
Kebaikan yang anda lakukan hari ini pasti mendapat balasan di kemudian hari.
Terima kasih. 😢 https://t.co/7zajY8WIlC

The tweet ended up gaining over 15,000 retweets, with many social media users tagging their friends.

Then, yesterday evening KKM posted another tweet saying that the blood donation drive was a success! The official twitter page also thanked social media users who helped get the word out.
