They said Pokémon are not real, but this yellow, Pikachu-like cat that’s been showing up all over the internet has proven the naysayers wrong!
Malaysians have been tickled
yellow, er, pink, over the sunny-hued cat whose white fur turned yellow after its owner gave it a turmeric full-body mask.

With the Pikachu-cat going viral, it turns out that the cat hails from Thailand.
Owner Thammapa Supamas told online platform 9gag that she actually did it to treat her kitty’s fungal infection.
Tickled by the yellow stain on her cat after washing the turmeric away, she decided to share it online where many started comparing the cat to Pikachu.
Much to the amusement of Pikachu-cat’s online fans, Thammapa then photoshopped the Pokemon’s features onto the oblivious cat.
With Pikacu-cat going viral, many are questioning the safety of turmeric for cats.
As it turns out, turmeric is safe for cats in small doses.
Turmeric is naturally full of anti-inflammatory properties and has been used for centuries in Eastern medicine to treat skin, upper respiratory tract, joints, and digestive system disorders.
If you want to apply it to your pet, however, watch out for additives and additional ingredients in commercially available turmeric powders as the ones used for cooking sometimes have additional spices that may cause irritation.
But if your cat really has a health problem, it’s best to check with your vet first.
As for the Pikachu-cat, she seems unperturbed by her new fur colour and healing quite nicely!
