During the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, not everyone is lucky enough to afford basic necessities.

Malaysians have shown their kindness with the rise of caremongering and now a petrol station in Shah Alam has pitched in to help out.

The station in Setia Alam has set up a community table where it is providing groceries for anyone who needs it.

Among the essentials made available to everyone is rice, milk, flour, sardine cans, salt and even bread.

Thanks to generous individuals in our community, we are able to provide more for those in need including salt, sugar, flour and milk powder! With the added items, we will leave it on a dedicated stand for those in need instead.

Petron Setia Alam, Facebook.

The endeavour began on 27th March, when the petrol station took to Facebook to announce that they were giving away 500g packets of rice to those who need assistance, no questions asked. The only caveat is that one person can only take one of each item in a day.

Over the days, the message was spread and generous folks joined in by providing other essential items.

Anyone who wants to donate groceries for the community table is most welcome to and the station also encourages people to spread the word, especially to those who do not have internet.
