The Palestinian-Israeli conflict continues, with the rogue state incessantly bombing Gaza and its population.

Though global awareness of these events is widespread, certain Western nations persist in their seemingly biased support of the Zionist regime, portraying them as the ‘victims’ in a war that has stretched for over seven decades.

Nonetheless, Malaysia remains steadfast in its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, which resonates with its millions of inhabitants who are acutely aware of the oppression they face.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, representing the people of Malaysia, has consistently urged the international community to rally behind the Palestinian cause while unequivocally condemning Israel’s atrocities.

Most recently, Anwar disclosed that his government has encountered threats and pressure from various countries, particularly in the West, due to Malaysia’s vocal support for the Palestinian people.

Yet, he remains resolute, asserting that he will not yield to this external pressure or the associated threats on account of the Palestinian cause.

“Malaysians are resolute in defending Palestinian rights. We support from afar because what is happening has touched our conscience.

“I’ve been criticised, attacked by some countries in the United States, Europe, and Israel. Let me warn you, as long as I’m given a mandate by my people, I won’t accept these threats; we will continue to resist.

“I want to emphasise this: I’ve received many warnings, threats… I say to you, you chose the wrong person,” he declared while addressing a gathering of nearly 16,000 attendees who convened at the Malaysia Together with Palestine Gathering (Perhimpunan Malaysia Bersama Palestin) in the Axiata Arena Stadium in Bukit Jalil on the evening of 24 October.

The Prime Minister further emphasised that Malaysia is an autonomous and sovereign nation, and thus has the right to support the Palestinian cause.

Following his recent diplomatic visit to Turkey and Egypt to discuss the Palestinian issue, Anwar acknowledged the complexity of finding a solution given the unwavering support Israel receives from the United States and European nations.

Therefore, he called on Islamic nations to unite and stand up to defend Palestinian soil.

Earlier in the event, nearly 16,000 attendees donned white attire as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Throughout the programme, the Axiata Arena resounded with resonant cries of ‘Bebaskan Palestine’ and ‘Israel Cuak’.

Today (25 October) marks the 17th day — yet Israel continues its brutality and oppression on innocent Palestinian people.

They have killed at least 5,791 and injured 15,273 people, with most of them being women and children.
