Hershey Products Made In Malaysia Are Halal, Says Jakim

The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has confirmed that Hershey products manufactured in Malaysia are halal.
Jakim said Hershey Malaysia Sdn Bhd has a Malaysian Halal Certification Certificate (SPHM), which is still valid today.
Hershey Malaysia offers a variety of chocolate and confectionery products such as Hershey’s Kisses, Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kat, and Twizzlers
Jakim informed that the brand’s products were also certified as halal by the Halal Product Assurance Organization (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.
BPJPH is an Overseas Halal Certification Body recognized by Jakim in the country concerned.
Jakim said it is aware of photos and videos involving Hershey products from abroad that went viral on social media recently.

It added that the viral Hershey product did not hold any halal certification from overseas halal certification bodies recognized by Jakim.
According to Jakim, the management and use of raw materials differ depending on the country.
Some Hershey products are halal certified, while others are not.
It is important to check the ingredients list and look for halal certification symbols on the packaging.
