It is not uncommon for Malaysians to drive long hours to work in Kuala Lumpur.
Some Malaysians live farther away from KL to save on housing costs or have more space and a quieter environment.
Others would rent a place in KL instead to save time and energy on travelling.
But a father who commutes daily from Ipoh to KL refused to do so.
He does not want to be separated from his children for work and miss seeing them grow up.
He rides a motorcycle from Ipoh to work in Kuala Lumpur every day and then returns to his home in Ipoh from Kuala Lumpur.
Even if it took 5 hours to go back and forth, he never complained of being tired.
The story was shared by a netizen who claimed that the father is her colleague.

Bila tanya nape x menyewa bilik kat sini je, dia ckp tak boleh sb anak² baru nak membesar atleast dia nak tgk anak hari² walaupun diaorg tido. 😭
The father had to leave early every morning, but it was late at night when he returned home.
When asked why he did not rent a house in Kuala Lumpur, he said it was because his child was starting to grow up.
Sy pun begitu. Thn ni masuk 9 thn ulang-alik mlk-putrajaya. Half gaji abis atas hiway. Demi tugas & keluarga, kene telan jer semua ni. Rezeki belum sampai lg.

Despite travelling back and forth daily, at least he can see the child’s face every day, even though he is already asleep.
The sharing resonated with netizens as it is not uncommon for parents to make such sacrifices for the family’s sake.
The Malaysian government has implemented various measures to help alleviate traffic congestion during rush hour, but with very limited success.

They included measures such as implementing tolls, carpooling initiatives, and promoting public transportation.
However, despite these efforts, rush hour traffic in Malaysia can still be quite challenging, and commuters must plan their routes and travel times accordingly.
Kalau drive, kena hadap jam.

Kalau nak motor, accident prone.
Kalau naik public transport, tak time reliable & the coach would be sandwich-packed during the peak hours.
