After the Chinese New Year, it appears that a shopping mall is selling mandarin oranges at only RM3 per box.

The Malaysia Shopping Mall Facebook page posted a picture showing Aeon Big in Wangsa Maju selling mandarin oranges at rock-bottom prices.

A box of 4 kg is only selling for RM3.

From the picture, as many as 100 boxes of mandarin oranges are on sale.

In addition to being sold in boxes, there are also loose mandarin oranges.

Many netizens remind consumers to be careful when buying expired or rotten mandarin oranges.

Some people suggested buying them as fertilizer because the mandarin oranges have been on sale for more than a month and are believed to have gone bad.

However, some netizens believe that the hypermarket should have cleared the stocks earlier instead of giving a promotion only when the fruits start to rot.

A Symbol Of Luck And Prosperity

Mandarin oranges have always been considered a symbol of good fortune in Chinese culture.

Originating from Southern China, the traditional act of giving someone mandarin oranges during Chinese New Year represents well-wishes and gifting one with wealth.

Mandarin oranges are a type of citrus fruit that is small and easy to peel.

They are a member of the orange family, but they have thinner skin that is easier to remove, are typically sweeter and often seedless or have very few seeds.

Mandarin oranges are commonly eaten as a snack or used in salads, desserts, and other dishes.

They are also often used to make juice, and the peel can be used to make candied orange peel or added to various recipes for flavour.

Mandarin oranges are known for their high vitamin C content, which can help boost the immune system and promote healthy skin.
