Agong, Raja Permaisuri Paid A Courtesy Call On King Charles III In The UK

His Majesty King Charles III agreed to welcome and be cordial with them both during the 40-minute courtesy visit, which began at 3 p.m. local time.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah and the King Queen, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandaria agreed to make a courtesy call on King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in London, United Kingdom (UK), on Wednesday.

The National Palace announced the courtesy visit in connection with His Majesty’s two special trips to London from 10 to 16 October 2022, in a statement released today.

According to Datuk Pengelola Dirajaya Istana Negara Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, the 40-minute courtesy visit began at 3 p.m. local time, with His Majesty King Charles III agreeing to meet with them both.

His Majesty King Charles III and His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong also touched on issues of bilateral relations between Malaysia and the UK including environmental issues and the launch of Battersea Power Station, an iconic Malaysian investment property project in London which will be inaugurated by His Majesty after the courtesy visit session.

Datuk Pengelola Dirajaya Istana Negara Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin also said that the fact that His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and His Majesty King Charles III were leaving to pay a courtesy visit shows how close they are. The two leaders have been friends for over four decades, starting with playing polo together as teenagers at various levels of international tournaments.

This courtesy visit, which is also the second meeting between the two leaders this year, also reflects the close bilateral relationship between Malaysia and the United Kingdom since independence 65 years ago,

According to Astro Awani , on September 18, 2022, Their Majesties both agreed to attend the reception with His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.
Their Majesties also agreed to attend the state funeral ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022.

Other than visiting the King of England, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will officiate at the inauguration of the Malaysian-owned Battersea Power Station.

After being out of use for many years, the Battersea Power Station has finally been fixed up. It is now a popular place to visit for both Londoners and tourists who want to see this famous Grade II* listed landmark and its more than 100 shops, restaurants, and other places to have fun.

The £9 billion ($1 = RM5.14) Battersea Power Station will be officially launched on October 12 and open to the public on October 14.

On October 14, a five-day “Festival of Power” will begin to honor the building’s unique history and contributions to British culture in honor of this important event.

New Straits Times stated that during his special visit to the UK last year, His Majesty expressed joy in the capacity and success of Malaysian-owned firms and government agencies managing businesses and investments.
