Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that the National Security Council has decided to tighten the enforcement of MCO 3.0. The decision is made after studying closely the latest Covid-19 status presented by the Health Ministry.

In the statement published last night, Muhyiddin added that despite the implementation of MCO 3.0 since 12 May, and the restrictions such as a ban on interstate and interdistrict travel, and restrictions on social activities, sports, recreational activities, and face to face meetings, the community spread of the pandemic is still high.
The issue is exacerbated by the existence of newer, more infectious strains of the virus that extends the time it takes to flatten the infection curve.
However, the details of the tighter MCO 3.0 enforcement will only be shared later today in a press conference by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at 5 pm.
