Malaysia gave conditional approval for the use of more Covid-19 vaccines in the National Immunization Program (NIP).
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah explained that three vaccines were granted conditional registration for use during disasters – requiring pharmaceutical companies to submit additional data to the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.
The government will also be evaluating two more coronavirus vaccines.

How do they work?
There are three main types of Covid-19 vaccines whose effectiveness depends on a number of factors. The World Health Organisation (WHO) prescribes that the minimum level of efficiency for vaccines is 50% while the NPRA assured Malaysians that approved vaccines are safe for use.
When is it my turn?
The Covid-19 vaccines will be given out in three-phases beginning with phase one in February.
