Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba’s image as the Health Minister has not recovered since his infamous statement regarding warm water and its effects on the Covid-19 virus. Ever since then, many members of the public have heavily criticised him and his work as the Health Minister of Malaysia.

This time, Dr Adham has drawn flak from Malaysians online after the Health Ministry promoted his recent book via their official Facebook page.

Titled “Malaysia Health Sector Response To Covid-19 Pandemic”, the Facebook post explains that the book is a written documentary by Dr Adham on the Covid-19 developments in Malaysia.

The book describes how the country prepared and strategised to tackle the outbreak here. It includes descriptions on the public health approaches that were implemented, such as the roles played by clinics, hospitals, and medical laboratories in the country.

The book was published by the Institutes for Health Systems Research (IHSR), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Health Ministry of Malaysia as well as collaborations from various parties.

The “whole of government and whole of society” approach is among the elements that contributed to Malaysia’s success. This approach has also fostered unity and fueled the spirit of solidarity between all walks of life in Malaysia.

Ministry of Health via Facebook

Unfortunately, it seems that some Malaysian Facebook users did not share the sentiments of Dr Adham and the Health Ministry on the book. To put it simply, the comment section of the post is vicious.

Most of the comments argue that the book should be attributed to the country, or the Health Ministry, instead of the Health Minister.

While others felt that considering the pandemic has yet to end, writing a book about the topic should not be the current priority.

According to the post, you can get an electronic version of the book here.
